The Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust serves a population of around 3 million, offering varied and modern services that are tailor made for each community’s differing environmental and medical needs, from cycles to fast response cars, frontline ambulances, helicopters and nurses in our control centres.

Ambulance work can be stimulating, unpredictable and never lacking in interest. It can be very rewarding but sometimes be physically and emotionally demanding.

A category C1 driving licence is essential
We will not consider applicants with more than 3 penalty points for motoring offences
All appointments are subject to Disclosure and Baring Bureau screening

The selection process could consist of a fitness test, driving assessment (including a written highway code test) and formal interview. This will be dependant on the skill set of the successful short listed candidate

If you are selected for interview, the process consists of a fitness test, driving assessment (including a written highway code and road sign test) and formal interview. Please note that if you are currently employed as a PCS or UCA member of staff you would not be required to undertake a further driving assessment.
