The School is seeking to appoint an inspiring individual to join the school and to be part of a new team of academics for the new BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science Programme. Working in close partnership with Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) the Bradford programme is unique, being a 4 year BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science with a paid sandwich year. The school and YAS have merged their joint innovative teaching and learning strategies and simulation equipment to create a high quality package of learning.
You will be a creative individual with a strong educational ethos and leadership qualities who will implement the new programme in collaboration with others in the academic team and our ambulance service partners. You will work inter-professionally with existing programmes and promote advancing practice skills across a range of academic levels. With the increased availability of e-technologies and inter-professional learning you will contribute to the design and implementation of these within the new curricula. You will provide support to students within academic and placement environments, establishing effective relationships with external partners and service users. You also will contribute to curriculum design. You will supervise research projects for undergraduate students and post graduate students.
You will be an HCPC registered paramedic. As a minimum you will have a Master’s degree, or be working towards a Masters degree, and have or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification. You should have some experience or understanding of Problem Based Learning. You will demonstrate extensive contemporary knowledge and clinical expertise specifically related to the work of the paramedic, and the ability to undertake individual and/or collaborative research or scholarly projects to support student learning. You will and assist in the development of research objectives and proposals.
