Role Responsibility:
Full Time: 3 rostered shifts and 2 relief positions all covering days, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. Experience is preferable.
Job Outline: To provide urgent and/or non-urgent patient transport with care ensuring that best practice is adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
To understand patients special needs, clinical needs and mobility to ensure their safe transport.
To deal with patients in a sensitive and emphatic manner to ensure the patients dignity and respect is maintained.
Communicate and act to promote teamwork and ensure high standards of service delivery.
Minimise and deal with aggressive and abusive behaviour to reduce risks to safety and ensure patient welfare.
To maintain the cleanliness and ensure the routine daily checks of designated vehicles are carried out prior to deployment.
Provide support as directed to other agencies in the event of serious injuries or emergencies.
To report to the appropriate Dispatcher as directed within operational procedures in updating location and status.
To move and handle patients using appropriate equipment where necessary e.g. carrying patients up the stairs using carry chair, moving immobile patients in and out of bed, manoeuvring patient’s in wheelchairs etc.
To convey high dependant patients and incubators within the limits of training supplied.
To use blue lights responsibly within the training and procedures laid down.

Person Specification:
This role requires the ability to deal with vulnerable, critically ill and/or difficult people whilst maintaining high standards of customer care and service delivery. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital. This role requires the flexibility to work and deal with a diverse customer group
