Northern Doctors Urgent Care (NDUC) in partnership with North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) delivers the 111 service across the North East region.
Working collaboratively with operational team leaders the Clinical Team Leader will play a key role in the day to day delivery of a safe and effective service to patients calling 111. In addition the Clinical Team Leader will work closely with the Clinical Support Manager and Clinical Development Manager to deliver a range of activities to support the continuous quality improvement of the 111 service. The Clinical Team Leader will also be fundamental to the delivery of clinical support to the NEAS 999 service.
The Clinical Team Leader will be responsible for: providing clinical and professional support to clinical and non-clinical staff involved in the delivery of the 111 and NEAS 999 services; providing direct line management to a defined team of staff and supervision to other clinical and non-clinical colleagues; contributing to the development and delivery of training; undertaking a range of governance, quality and service development activities.
Successful applicants will be a Registered Nurse (Level 1 sub part 1 of the NMC Register) or a Registered Paramedic (HPC) with experience of working in a primary care environment, A&E, MAU/ EAU or other first contact setting and in a telephone triage/assessment environment. They will have experience of: leading or supervising members of a team, which will have included the provision of feedback on performance, coaching and mentoring to support individuals to improve practice; and the provision of training, supported by a teaching qualification. They will be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement and will be able to provide examples of service improvement within a clinical setting.
The 111 service operates 24/7, 365 days a year and as such post holders will need to be able to offer flexibility in their working hours to meet the needs of the service.
All applicants will need to complete NHS Pathways training. Any offer of employment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks including enhancedCRB.
