The Trust has been funded by the Department of Health to establish a second Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) within the East of England and as such we are recruiting staff to fill vacancies at both the new and existing locations.
Each team member will need to be a HCPC registered Paramedic (with an exemplary clean record) and will undergo development in the use of various different forms of PPE. All staff will be trained in the use of CBRN PPE and Inland Water Response, however, only some staff will be trained in the USAR skills, these USAR positions will be allocated after the interview process.
Operational HART duties will include responding to conventional 999 emergency calls using the HART RRVs as well as responding to HART specific calls.
This role is part of an evolving and novel clinical service allowing the Trust to provide definitive care to patients in hazardous areas. Successful applicants will be clinically focused Paramedics who are able to use their skills in challenging environments. Evidence of having developed an interest and understanding of the principles and practice of responding to patients in a hazardous environment is vital.
All team members will be required to work shift patterns which will involve night duties and weekend working. Applicants should note that the successful post-holders will be working to the HART job description, and will also be expected to undertake necessary residential training.

Those successful at interview will undertake a minimum of 7 weeks training at various times over the subsequent months, some of this training will be residential.
