Company:South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust
Location:Ashford
Salary:£21,176 to £27,625 pa
Hours: 37.5 per week
Would you like to use your clinical skills in the most challenging of environments?
South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) is passionate about patient care and is at the fore front of clinical innovation. We are committed to delivering a world class service to the people of Kent, Surrey and Sussex through harnessing innovation, embracing change and developing new roles and services.
HART is expanding in SECAmb and we are therefore seeking candidates who are currently operating as HPC Registered Paramedics in a frontline A+E ambulance setting, to train as HART Operatives.
Hazard Area Response Team (HART) is a continuing national initiative led by the Department of Health, which enables clinical care to be delivered in areas previously inaccessible to the Ambulance Service.
HART Operatives respond to potentially protracted incidents of a Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear (CBRN) and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) nature; structural collapse, confined space rescue, major transportation incidents, incidents requiring working at height, trench collapse and rescue incidents involving complex entrapment.
The team may also be called upon to provide specialist clinical support and knowledge within an Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) (Paramedics only) situation.
In addition to specific HART related work, Operatives will respond as an operational resource, as required, to meet the needs of the Trust.
You will have to demonstrate competence in team working, self discipline, communication, adaptability, planning, and decision making. It is also a prerequisite that you are fully committed to the HART project in the longer term.
As part of the application process we expect you to make efforts to find out more about HART and think carefully about whether this is a role for you. Visit www.ambulancehart.org for further information.
All applicants are asked to complete a Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) honestly and candidly before deciding whether to apply. Please click on the following link:-
