The East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides Emergency, Urgent and Non-Emergency pre-hospital care and transport across six counties (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Rutland and Northamptonshire).
Our Trust is entering a period of significant change as it move towards its aspiration of achieving Foundation Trust
station. A large part of this change is the realignment of our operational divisions to better serve the public in the East Midlands.
Our transformation programme has created a unique and exciting opportunity for Paramedic Consultants to join our senior management team.
The successful candidates will have expertise in four key areas of focus;
- Expert Practice
- Professional Clinical Leadership
- Education & Development
- Research & Evaluation
The Paramedic Consultant for each of our 3 divisions, will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the national paramedics standards of proficiency, delivering quality clinical practice across the three domains of quality, and being a key liaison with the local Clinical Commissioners to deliver local solutions for patient care. It is expected that they will be the key senior clinical leadership within the divisions. Remaining clinically active, the Paramedic Consultant will act as an advocate for the role of paramedics and their ability to provide high quality clinical care for a broad range of patients. In addition the successful candidate will promote and support the movement towards the professionalization of paramedics.
