The British Red Cross supports the NHS, public
event organisers and individuals through the
provision of high quality first aid and ambulance
services. Our Area teams are responsible for the
delivery of these services including recruiting,
training and developing all event first aid (EFA)
volunteers.

We are looking for an experienced pre-hospital
care professional with strong training and
organisational skills to lead and coordinate the
revision and development of EFA and ambulance
support training. In this role you will focus on
understanding the obstacles faced in delivering
the EFA tutor training programmes, support our
EFA tutors through continuing professional
development sessions, attend update meetings
and help to ensure that all areas have a training
plan implemented that meets the local and
national needs.

You will lead a team of three EFA training officers
(current posts based in Staffordshire and
Coventry). Alongside them you will engage in the
development of local tutors as well as direct
delivery of courses to volunteers. You will ensure
the team can respond to new contracting
opportunities and that a logical and structured
approach is taken to delivering a comprehensive
training programme across the UK. Due to the
nature of the work you will be required to travel
frequently across the UK to attend EFA training
events and events as required (including some
weekends).

This role will suit those with recent regular
operational experience in a clinical care role,
preferably in the NHS ambulance service or a
similar setting. Experience of developing, rolling
out and delivering technical training to meet
standards is essential, as are your team
management and influencing skills. Qualification
as an IHCD ambulance technician or paramedic
registration would be highly beneficial.
