North West Ambulance Service are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are educated to diploma/degree level and HCPC registered. You must be confident in your ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure, whilst also being a pro-active member of the team.
**Please state clearly in your supporting information section which areas you would consider working within if you are successful.**
You will be respond to critical emergency and urgent situations, deliver high quality and effective pre-hospital clinical care and transport patients safely.
You will be expected to use advanced driving skills under blue light and normal traffic conditions to respond to emergency and routine calls. Therefore, you are required to hold a full UK driving licence complete with the C1 category and have no more than 3 points on your licence (in exceptional circumstances a maximum of 6 points may be considered).
Working as a crew or solo, you will initiate appropriate care and effective treatment to patients in both hospital and pre-hospital environment, selecting and applying appropriate skills and equipment safely and within appropriate level of training, competency and scope of practice.
Individuals will also have to display confidence and effectiveness in making decisions, and be able to demonstrate a professional approach along with excellent clinical skills.

This post will be subject to a standard Criminal Records Bureau check. If you are successful in obtaining the post you will be asked to disclose any spent and unspent criminal convictions, on a self declaration form, in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975. Under the terms of the Safeguarding Authority Vetting and Barring Scheme this will involve a check against the barred lists for children / vulnerable adults.Please note that you must make a full declaration as failure to do so will result in your application form being withdrawn or dismissal if you have already started in the role.
We will then make an application to the CRB for an enhanced disclosure. Please note that the CRB will disclose any spent and unspent criminal convictions. They will also include any cautions, warnings, reprimands and bind-overs.
Information will be held and stored in line with the CRB Code of Practice copies of which are downloadable from their website. Please refer to the Recruitment of Ex-Offenders Statement attached to this advert for further information.
The cost of the check is currently £44.00 (enhanced) and this amount will be deducted in full from your first month’s pay if you are appointed.
