Company: Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust Location:Bristol And University Of The West Of England Salary:£30,460 to £40,157 pa A full-time research paramedic is required to support the development and testing of all aspects of the HACS cervical collar design project.The trust is committed to supporting staff development; part of this is providing staff with the opportunity to apply for secondments within the trust. Whilst a secondment may be considered, all staff should be aware that the release of a member of staff for a secondment will be subject to operational requirements and will be agreed between Heads of Service. Staff should discuss such an opportunity in the first instance with their line manager. The successful applicant will devise and deliver practical demonstration sessions to ambulance clinicians and other identified clinicians. This ground-breaking research will address a topic of considerable relevance to the ambulance service, and will further develop the research profile and activity of Great Western Ambulance Service (GWAS). The successful applicant will be responsible for reporting and the evaluation of data back to the studies key stakeholders, and to work with these stakeholders to future develop a prototype device. Candidates should be registered clinicians (Paramedic or Nursing) with appropriate pre-hospital experience and be educated to degree level or equivalent. A teaching qualification would be desirable or be able to demonstrate experience in designing and delivering teaching sessions. Familiarity with research methodology and the ability to utilise a variety of software packages are also required.
