Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS) was formed on the 1 July 2006 bringing together South Yorkshire Ambulance Service, West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance Service and the North and East Yorkshire parts of Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service.We are currently recruiting Telephone Advisors for our Access and Response 999 Communication Centres in Wakefield and York.
Telephone Advisors are the first point of contact for callers including patients, patients’ relatives, healthcare professionals and other emergency services. Using the Computer Aided Dispatch system you will take accurate details of the callers’ requirements for both emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport or transfers for clinical triage, providing a high quality service and support to those needing our assistance.
These services are delivered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There are full time vacancies available which predominantly include evenings, nights and weekends.
We are looking for individuals who have a keen interest in providing a vital service to patients and callers who can be anxious or distressed when they contact us for assistance. Being able to work quickly in a calm, reassuring and professional manner is a prerequisite for these positions.
