Band 5 £29,844 - £38,567 inc.
Exact salary will depend on location and working pattern

The great service which you’ll help us to deliver means providing the appropriate response to our patients. As part of our strategic plan to take us through to 2013, the year after London will be hosting the Olympic Games, we foresee that we will be providing more care for patients in their homes - where many would rather be treated - and giving more advice to callers over the phone. By 2013 we envisage we will be taking 200,000 fewer patients a year to hospital. We are constantly striving to improve. For example, the cardiac arrest survival rate in London has risen to 22.5% in the last five years, thanks in part to our staff’s dedication in improving response times and delivering better quality chest compressions. If you’d like to join us in improving our service in London, you’ll need to be a Registered Paramedic with the Health Professional Council and should have attended a HPC validated training programme. You will need demonstrable evidence of significant clinical practice within at least the last 12 months with a scope of paramedic practice, in line with HPC registration and JRCALC (Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Service Liaison Committee) National Clinical Guidelines, evidenced by your professional portfolio. This should include responding to emergency calls as a sole responder, conducting specialist patient assessment and selecting appropriate treatment regimes/pathways. You will also need a current manual driving licence, valid in the UK and covering category C1 vehicles and have satisfactorily completed an IHCD D1 & D2 driving course You must have no more than three penalty points and at least two years’ driving experience. Beyond that, a dedicated approach to providing top quality care to others could well see you into one of the most satisfying and highly respected roles in the community.
