Flight Paramedic (or RN) - Base Supervisor

Alpha Star Aviation Services is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is a GACA part 135 aircraft operator. We operate a fixed & rotor wing MEDEVAC service that includes both international/domestic missions as well as SAR/ disaster response. All MEDEVAC aircraft are equipped with latest medical/aviation required
equipment.
We are currently recruiting for the following:

Title: Air Medical Supervisor, Flight Paramedic (or RN)

Organizational Relationships
Responsible to: Air Medical Operations Manager
Responsible for: Daily Operations of MEDEVAC at respective base
Liaises with:
Base Commanders, Operational Officers, Engineers, physicians, paramedical staff, flight staff, patients & families

Job Summary:
Provides quality pre-hospital advanced life support to critically injured/ill patients and supervises the daily operations of the MEDEVAC missions at the respective operating base. Follows established medical protocols and policy that is developed by Medical Director(s) and Project Director.

Supervisory Specific Responsibilities:
Oversees routine aspects of service delivery, including clinical documentation, communications, and clinical quality of care, training, helicopter ambulance operations, customer relations, individual incident command, coordination, and problem resolution.

Develops Air Medical staff schedules for respective base.
Provides a positive example for staff under charge regarding work ethic, attitude, professional ethics, and knowledge of the codes, interpersonal interactions, and mutual respect.

Operational Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete assigned responsibilities while functioning within established guidelines, standards and directives.
Provides high quality of patient care based on competent understanding of patient/client needs within established policies and procedures.
Provides attentive patient care in a thorough, efficient and cost effective manner and maintains an awareness of the patient physical, medical and cultural needs at all times.
Anticipates potential problems and responds to them appropriately and accountable for operating and maintain Air Medical equipments and to avoid it from damage or breakage.
Ensures aircraft medical supplies are in constant state of readiness.
Ensures participation with receiving & sending facility in loading/unloading patients on helipads.
Ensure continuous and effective communication with all public safety & security departments.
Participates in all department meetings as needed.
Continually strives to deliver high level of care.
Assists in situational problem solving and in the utilization of limited resources and supplies.
Assists other staff members while encouraging cohesive teamwork approach in the workplace.
Works in harmonious partnership with members of the Air Medical Staff and Aviation Provider.
Maintains a professional image and proper grooming at all times.
Maintains punctuality (report to work on time) and organizes daily tasks and break time efficiently and effectively.
Complies with department policies and procedures.
Complies with the standards laid down by the approved International Accreditation Standards.
Report any occurrence not consistent with the standard operation of service for the patients, employees or visitors and situations which put patients, staff or visitors at risk for Injury or other harm
Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities
Educational Requirements:
Degree in Paramedic Studies (or RN) from recognized University by the Saudi Council for Health Specialty
Current valid certifications in the following:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent (ITLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) or Flight Paramedic (FP)

Professional Experience:
1-3 years’ experience in Aviation Medicine (a mix of ground critical care can supplement)
Must be verified with letter of employment from previous employers
3 years in Aviation Medicine is preferred
Fluent in English, both written and spoken, Arabic is advantage
Computer literacy level is required, proficient is preferred

Salary is approx. 80,000USD per year, tax free, plus housing, flights, etc.... Western package. Additional per diems for flights & travel.

This opening can be a rotational position of 60/30 (60 on and 30 off). Staff will also be used to back fill other current openings. Main city of placement will be Abha, Saudi Arabia.

Preference given to those with previous flight experience and search & rescue background
