Graduate Paramedic
-Salary: Band 3 £15,610 plus up to 25% unsocial hours allowance whilst working with ECA responsibilities rising to Band 5 £21,176 plus up to 25% unsocial hours allowance on receipt of HPC registration.
-Hours: 37.5 hours per week
-Base: Station to be allocated within the Birmingham Division following selection.

West Midlands Ambulance Service is looking to recruit Paramedics who are due to graduate from University by February 2012 with relevant degrees in Emergency Care resulting with Registered Paramedic status
and Health Professions Council registration.

The Trust requires all applicants to pass the initial short listing process and then an
assessment which includes an interview, driving, fitness and clinical assessment as well as occupational health clearance prior to an offer of employment being made.
When this process has been completed the Trust will also train you on blue light emergency driving and ensure you have a fully updated clinical knowledge. This induction programme is on a pass or fail basis.
The Trust will employ you as an ‘Ambulance Paramedic Designate’ with ECA responsibilities whilst you await your HPC registration and university results and following receipt of these, an offer will be made for the position of Registered Paramedic.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those students who wish to earn and continue their learning whilst not being fully registered but also ensures that a job is available for you as a paramedic.
Also if you have not obtained your full category C1 on your driving licence, funding may also be available to enable you to complete this.

Any offer made by the Trust is subject to pre-employment checks including clinical and academic references, successful completion of your University programme within the given time frame and receipt of HPC registration.

We are looking to recruit a cohort of graduates in February and May 2012.
Assessments for the position are due to be held on Saturday 21st January 2012 at the Education & Training Centre in Dudley, West
Midlands.

This position involves a regulated activity which will require an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check. The disclosure will, where appropriate to the role, include information against the Independent Safeguarding Authority barred lists for working with children, adults or both.
